Indications/Uses
Reduces pain associated w/ osteoarticular apparatus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab bid. Max dose: 200 mg daily. Max treatment duration: 15 days.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Place tab on the tongue to dissolve then swallow.
Special Precautions
Do not use in patients w/ known hypersensitivity; asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis caused by aspirin or NSAIDs allergy; GI bleeding, peptic ulcer, cerebral hemorrhage & other bleeding disorders; fever, suspected to dengue or flu-like symptoms; alcoholism or those who regularly drink too much alcohol including drug addiction; severe cardiac/renal impairment. May increase risk of bleeding or GI ulceration. Patients w/ cardiac disease, renal impairment, HTN. Avoid in patients w/ platelet disorder. Monitor liver function periodically. Discontinue if fever or flu-like symptoms (malaise, shivering); anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue or dark urine or hepatic impairment including liver toxicity occurs. Concomitant use w/ anticoagulants, aspirin, salicylates, diuretics, lithium, MTX or cyclosporins. Avoid concomitant use w/ drugs inducing liver toxicity; other analgesics. Avoid use in pregnancy (3rd trimester) & lactation; childn <12 yr. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Epigastralgia, heartburns, nausea, diarrhea & vomiting; rash & pruritus; dizziness, somnolence & headache.
Drug Interactions
May be displaced from the binding site by fenofibrate, salicylic acid, valproic acid & tolbutamide. May displace salicylic acid, MTX & furosemide from binding sites. Reduced diuretic effect of furosemide. May cause enzymatic induction of theophylline.
